“I never really knew what fine cuisine was when I was a little boy in Canada. For me, Italian food was 'Kraft Dinner' or pizza. When I moved to New York, that's when I discovered all the Italian food.” Sebastian Bach

Beverages: An Italian morning can’t be complete without a café latte, hot chocolate or a cappuccino. If you order a café in Italy, you get a simple shot of espresso.

Pastries: Italians love having sweet breakfasts and undoubtedly baking sweet goods is a big part of their morning routine. Cornetto is a well-known kind of Italian croissant. Bread butter and jam is popular among Italian people as well. Unlike most countries cereals do not take any part in a traditional Italian breakfast but nowadays Italians tend to have cereal due to the influence of social media and other countries.

Although we already talked about the traditional Italian cuisine, let's start with learning the name and little hacks on how to make the top 5 well-known Italian dishes of all time that leaves you no other choice but to say “Mamma Mia!”.

Pizza: The first dish I will talk about is pizza and of course we all know Italy for its remarkably delicious pizza. To make a traditional Italian pizza, a rustic Italian pizza dough is a necessity. All you need to make that extraordinary crispy dough is flour, water, yeast and salt. Every Italian has their own recipe for pizza dough and it differs in different regions of Italy. These ingredients are used in different quantities due to the regional preference. Different regions of Italy have different recipes for almost all of the following dishes but frankly all the recipes’ outcomes are wonderfully delicious and mouth-watering.

Pasta: The second food Italian people and undoubtedly people all over the world adore is my personal favorite, Pasta. You can find various types of pasta in any Italian restaurant you walk into such as spaghetti al pomodoro and Fettuccine al pomodoro which are made with fresh tomatoes. Another exceptional type of pasta would be a roman carbonara which consists of eggs and crispy pork bacon. Different types of pasta can be appetizing for different dietaries.

Arancini: Number three in our list is Arancini. People don’t know this dish as well as pizza and pasta and that is a total loss. This dish basically is rice balls filled with different types of cheese or tomato sauce covered in breadcrumbs and fried until they are crispy and golden. It is considered as a street food or a snack.

Lasagna: The fourth cuisine is lasagna. If you want to have a true experience in tasting an Italian masterpiece you have to have lasagna in your list. People in different countries make this dish and sometimes they change the actual recipe but the original and traditional lasagna is made with a variety of different sauces such as béchamel or tomato sauce.

Fiorentina Steak: Last but not least is Fiorentina Steak. It’s definitely a chef’s kiss and a perfect choice for meat-lovers. It is made of a thick layer of meat and is often served rare for the fact that the layer of the meat is too thick to have it well-done.

Traditional luscious desserts of Italy

Italy is mostly known for its main courses and appetizers. There are some desserts we love that we don’t even have any idea they are Italian.

Gelato: I doubt that you knew gelato was an Italian dessert but surprisingly, it is. One of the main differences between gelato and ice cream has been in the amount of butterfat. Gelato has almost half the fat of our well-known ice cream.

Tiramisu: Tiramisu is one of the most popular desserts all over the world. The base is coffee dipped lady fingers with layers of mascarpone in between. The quality of your coffee and low density of mascarpone cheese.
